Lindsay R.A. Dierking: Publisher / Owner / Managing Editor
“Your Cosmic Messenger: I am a living altar; I am a walking ceremony. Living in gratitude and truth are the keys to unlocking a healthy and abundant life.”
Lindsay is grateful and honored to work with her production team to help produce books our world needs. She is dedicated to helping ensure the authors’ visions and purposes are aligned with their authentic selves, speaking their truth and the message they are transmitting.
Lindsay began her writing, editing, and publishing journey when she was very young. She was consistently told her writing was “beyond her years.” Lindsay started working officially in the book publishing industry at the tender age of fourteen when an editor from a traditional publishing company in Canada accepted her manuscript for publication, whereupon they worked together for four years. In 2009 her first story was traditionally published, which deepened her career in the book publishing industry. When the book went out of print in her early 20s, a substantial amount of aspiring authors were asking her for help over the years, so she opened her own writing, editing, and publishing company in 2013. The company was first opened under Lindsay R. Allison: Writing, Editing, Publishing and became The Awakened Press in 2017.

Kurt became friends with Lindsay in 2017 when they met in Arizona. The two of them fell in love and eventually got married in Sedona, Arizona in 2020. Kurt’s partnership with Lindsay has allowed her to flourish and stay balanced. When the two of them are not enjoying a cup of coffee, coming up with ideas, enjoying their time together or planning their future, Kurt enjoys everything to do with working in his creative space. The couple love road trips, Star Wars, and dinner.

Angela Heis: Copyeditor
Angela is a creative centipede. She taught herself to read at the age of four with help from a record player and read-along Disney books. Since then, she has maintained a love of letters as well as arts. She attended an Arts and Communications high school and then went on to study at Cornish College of Arts until financing evaporated. Somehow she ended up in the Netherlands with two kids, a bachelor’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and a master’s degree in Creative Writing.
Now settled back in the U.S., Angela spends her time tattooing and working on her own writing endeavors, including her most recent column, “Pens and Needles News.” Her most recent endeavor is copyediting books with The Awakened Press.

David Moratto: Book Designer
David is a professional book designer living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with over twenty years experience in the book publishing industry. He has been working with The Awakened Press since 2016.
David sees each book as an extension to the author’s body of work. Each book’s story/subject is unique in that it’s reflected by the author’s subject matter, and that is the approach he takes to each book design, working closely with the author and publisher. He uses no pre-designed templates for his interiors or covers; each design is inspired by the content. David provides a book design to be proud of.
“My background story starts with art. Art has always played a role in my life and continues to do so through design, drawing, painting, and sculpturing. Art led me along the path to Humber College studying advertising and design. After working in many design roles within companies, desktop publishing fell into my lap, and I took the best of art, design, and desktop publishing into book design and have never looked back.”

Phelicity Wiese: Publicity / Marketing / Media relations
Phelicity’s life revolves around books and she wouldn’t have it any other way. From young adult to romantasy to mystery thriller, she is never without a book (print, digital, audio, sometimes all three).
She has over ten years experience in book marketing and publicity. She graduated from ASU with degrees in Psychology, Communication, and English Literature. In 2019, she attended the Denver Publishing Institute, a six-week intensive publishing graduate program where she learned all aspects of publishing. She has worked with authors from all genres and backgrounds through her marketing position at Barnes&Noble and is excited to bring this experience to The Awakened Press.
When she’s not nose-deep in a book, she enjoys kayaking, roadtrips to National Parks, and cuddling with her dogs.
